Seaside Holiday Rally

Motor Caravanners' Club

Northern Counties Group

Seaside Special

Northern Counties Group returns to one of our most popular venues. From 1st - 6th September we rally at Bents Park, South Shields. Quite literally a stones throw across the road from a fabulous beach, it's a great location for a late summer seaside break.

There's so much to do in 'Shields here's just a few suggestions to whet your appetite:

For history lovers, visit the Arbeia Roman Fort and Museum. It has no admission fee and it is within walking distance of the rally. In the town centre there is the small but interesting South Shields Museum & Art Gallery. Again with free admission and a great way to while away an hour or so if the Great British weather lets us down. Just along the coast (walking distance) is the National Trust Souter Lighthouse, the first lighthouse in the world designed and built to be powered by electricity.

If you fancy an adventure, why not have a wander down to the riverside and catch the passenger ferry across the Tyne to North Shields fishquay.

For food and drink connoisseurs stroll across to Ocean Road, not only the North East's answer to curry mile, but also home to Colmans award winning fish and chips. If you're a fan of real ale, seek out The Steamboat, a real old fashioned pub with excellent brews - CAMRA Pub of the year 2015.

If shopping is your thing, the town centre has a vast array of shops together with a Flea Market on Friday and the traditional market on Saturday and Monday. On Sunday there will also be the Harton Quays Park Craft Market.

The kids will be kept busy because in addition to the beach and funfair just over the road, there is a fantastic park right next door complete with miniture train, boating lake, adventue playground and loads of open space to run around.

The rally itself features the usual socials with quizzes, games, cash bingo etc. and a charity raffle all happening in our entertainment marquee. On Friday night you'll be entertained by a Northen Counties favourite, Ian Fraser. Saturday night is party night with a tasty pie, peas & roasties tea (extra charge). Our entertainer for Saturday is the fabulous Susan Fegan.

Sunday brings the usual coffee morning but also a table top sale. Bring along your unwanted bits and pieces to sell. One mans junk ....

It costs just £10 pupn and no booking required, so come along and have a great weekend at the seaside. Full location info here.
